Fresh strawberries has to be one of the best things about the summer. They absolutely love the Alabama heat (I, on the other hand, do not). Personally, I think strawberries are a superior fruit because of how versatile they are!
Ingredients:
- 16 oz fresh strawberries
- 3 T orange juice
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
Steps:
- Combine strawberries, OJ, and 1/2 cup sugar in a saucepan. Cook until sugar completely dissolves. Pour into greased baking dish.
- Combine remaining sugar and flour in a separate bowl. Using a food processor, combine dry ingredients with 1/2 the butter. It should end up dry and flaky. Sprinkle over strawberries.
- Melt the rest of the butter and combine with brown sugar. Dollop on top of strawberries and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
