If you’re someone who is looking to become more self-sustaining with gardening, preserving food, raising livestock, and more, The Homestead Festival is for you!
Last year, I was able to attend the first ever Homestead Festival and it was one of the best experiences. I was able to hear multiple homesteaders talk about their journey to providing healthy foods for themselves and the obstacles they encountered along the way. I even got to meet Dr. Temple Grandin after hearing her talk about her life-long adventure of working with animals and animal science.

The Homestead Festival is at Hardison Mill, Rory Feek’s personal homestead. There were multiple gardens, livestock animals, and even a one room schoolhouse where his daughter attends school each year.
Aside from the daily speakers, there were numerous vendors set up to showcase their favorite products. I came home with things such as organic cotton kitchen towels, a windchime, a basket for collecting eggs/vegetables from the garden, and so much more! My favorite table was this one with bees! I was even able to spot the queen π

I am beyond excited to be able to attend the festival again this year! Some of the headlining speakers are Joel Salatin, Temple Grandin, Anne of All Trades, Rory Feek, Jared and Annette of Azure Farms, Teddy Gentry from the music group Alabama, and many more small and large-scale homesteaders. I cannot wait to see what all I learn this year!
