Cling wrap, plastic wrap, press and seal, saran wrap, it’s all made from a type of plastic, which is not biodegradable at all! Think about where that plastic goes once it’s thrown into the trash….yep, back to our earth, where it will stay for millions of years! Animals and fish may find plastic wrap in their habitats, and often mistake it for a snack. Sorry, animals, y’all can’t break down plastic either! Not to mention that these animals die after eating plastic. Overall, plastic products ALWAYS harm the environment.
Beeswax Wraps are a great alternative for plastic wrap in your home. There are so many benefits to beeswax wraps such as their re-usability, they’re better for the environment, and easy to store!
I decided to try making my own wraps last year. While it was a fun learning process, it made a mess in the kitchen, so I think next time I’ll just purchase some wraps from Bee’s Wrap. You can also find them at Target and on Amazon!
