This is another recipe from my mom! She used to make this cake for me growing up and it tastes so similar to a honey bun! You can even add some chopped pecans for extra texture, although I prefer mine without nuts.
Ingredients:
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 8 oz sour cream
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 T milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
Steps:
- Beat cake mix, oil, eggs, and sour cream on low for 30 seconds. Then beat on medium speed for 2 min.
- Pour half of the mix into a pan and spread evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, nuts, and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over batter.
- Top with remaining batter and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 min or until golden brown.
- Mix together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze. Use a fork to poke holes all over the cake and pour on glaze.
