  • Honey Bun Cake

This is another recipe from my mom! She used to make this cake for me growing up and it tastes so similar to a honey bun! You can even add some chopped pecans for extra texture, although I prefer mine without nuts.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 box yellow cake mix
    • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
    • 4 eggs
    • 8 oz sour cream
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1/3 cup chopped pecans (optional)
    • 2 tsp cinnamon
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 T milk
    • 1 tsp vanilla

    Steps:

    1. Beat cake mix, oil, eggs, and sour cream on low for 30 seconds. Then beat on medium speed for 2 min.
    2. Pour half of the mix into a pan and spread evenly.
    3. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, nuts, and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over batter.
    4. Top with remaining batter and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 min or until golden brown.
    5. Mix together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze. Use a fork to poke holes all over the cake and pour on glaze.
